The Teton Sports Scout 3400 Internal Frame Backpack was previously sold as the Wilderness55. The Scout 3400 is perfect for the youth and the light backpacker. It comes complete with adjustable height shoulder straps, a rainfly compartment with rainfly, and the Scout 3400 also features a padded water bladder pocket.
Internal frame backpacks hold the weight of your pack close to your body, which makes it easier to maintain balance while crossing uneven terrain. They also deliver stiffness and support, but they are not completely rigid, and this makes them more flexible as you’re doing any kind of active sports.
Two side zippered pockets, side and front mesh pockets, as well as a top zippered pocket provide ample room for smaller accessories. The top-loading main compartment and the sleeping bag compartment complete the pack. Included are the attached rain fly, and it is hydration system ready. Keep in mind that some products may say Scout 3400, but others Wilderness55, these are both identical bags.
Teton Sports Scout 3400 Internal Frame Backpack Features:
* Dual aluminum stays with the contoured shoulder, lumbar, and waist pads
* Height-adjustable shoulder straps accommodate a wide range of torso lengths
* Attached rain fly; compatible with most hydration systems
* Compact internal frame backpack with a capacity of 3,400 cubic inches or 55 liters
* Top-loading main compartment, sleeping bag compartment, and pair of side zippered pockets
* Weight: Empty; 4.5 pounds
Teton Sports Scout 3400 Internal Frame Backpack Reviews:
In summery, a couple things that people didn’t like about this backpack were the straps being uncomfortable, and another person saying it was too small. Another was surprised that the actual bag they received was different than what was shown in the picture. If they had known this ahead of time, they would have bought a different cheaper bag.
After trying the pack on, the consumer noticed that although it fit their torso, along with being able to fit many people whether larger or smaller, they felt that the shoulder straps where at a strange angle and the inside edges bear the backward pressure of the pack into your shoulders too much.
In spite of the uneven strap contact, and no way for adjustments to correct this, they felt that otherwise it was a very affordable pack. In addition, a different reviewer felt that the backpack was a pretty good backpack but ultimately too small. They mentioned that the fit was pretty good after getting it adjusted to their height, but didn’t know if someone over 6 feet tall would be able to find enough adjustments to make it work. Also, they stated that their sleeping bag didn’t fit in the bottom compartment regardless of how forcefully they tried.
In their opinion it just doesn’t hold much gear and were happy that they were only going on a 2 mile hike for a single overnight camping trip. Other ratings given that were middle of the road felt that it was a backpack, not bad and not great. But one thing of mention that one reviewer said, when it is stuffed it will elongate rather than widen so this might cause a balance issue.
There have been far more positive reviews on Amazon then negatives however. One reviewer who is 6’4″ found the backpack to fit snug with the curve of the spine, and also found the straps to have plenty of adjustment length, and it also contains plenty of pockets as well as plenty of exterior points for attaching onto.
The general opinion is that it seems to be a great entry level backpack for hiking and camping. Many felt that it is light and comfortable but might not contain enough storage room for some. It was mentioned a couple times that the sleeping bag compartment is a little too small.
But one reviewer pointed out that after purchasing this pack, they did some shopping around and couldn’t find an equal to this bag for under $200. After packing it with about 40 pounds of gear they felt it was just a great backpack.
There may be an issue with the hydration bladder compartment, but one reviewer used a Platypus-3 liter hydration bladder and it fit perfectly. Make sure you figure out ahead of time what you need on your trip and place them within reach in the pack. In addition, it was mentioned again how much you can attach to the straps of it.
It appears that most are very happy with the Scout 3400 Backpack, and would highly recommend it to others. The seams were referenced as being very sturdy, and some have taken it on multi day hiking journeys and found it to hold up excellent. After sifting through the many reviews, I think it should make a great entry level backpack.

In football cards and with any other trading card, getting your card graded by a professional grading service can greatly enhance the value of the card. The trouble is that there are now many different card grading companies to choose from making it very difficult for the card collector to choose a company that will do give a great evaluation and at the same time enhance the value of the card.
When looking at getting a card graded there are many different companies that a collector can choose from to get their card evaluated. Some of the companies include Beckett’s Grading Service (BGS), Becketts Classic Card Grading (BCCG), Sportscard Guaranty (SGC), Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA), Global Authentication Incorporated (GAI) and many others. How does a collect choose the right card grading company to make sure the
In general there are several items to consider when choosing a card grading service to evaluate the value and condition of your football cards and especially your rookie football cards. The items a collector should consider is reputation of the company, cost of using the service and the value of the cards after grading.
Grading services have been around for over 20 years and reputation is very important in choosing a card grading company. The most established card grading company is Professional Sports Authenticator. PSA has very experienced graders and very good at grading vintage cards and rare cards. PSA carries a reputation in the industry as being well respected and accurate in their evaluation of card value. The primary negative with PSA is that it can be quite costly to get cards graded. A collector must join the PSA collectors club and then pay additional fees to get their cards graded. For the collector who only wants to grade a limited amount of cards each year the costs can add up. The best way to get a small number of cards evaluated is to go to card shows where evaluators can grade your cards on site.
Beckett’s offers two levels of grading services: their premium service BGS and the vintage service BCCG. In terms of reputation the BGS premium grading has the highest standards of the Beckets grading services. The Beckett’s premium grading service is widely considered to be some of the toughest standards in the industry. You may not get as high as with other services, however, a really great card that gets a high grade with BGS will carry a substantial amount of value. Beckett’s charges a set fee for grading normal cards and additional fees for older autographed cards.
Both SGC and GAI are the other card grading companies that I would recommend. SGC while being relatively new has a different grading scale than both PSA or BGS. The SGC grading scale goes from 1 to 100, unlike PSA and BGS which go from 1 to 10. This allows SGC to give in their words a “more accurate and true” evaluation of the card. The grading performed by SGC is considered by most to be the most accurate in the industry, however, the age of the company simply doesn’t carry as must weight as PSA or Beckets.
GAI has some innovative features in their grading service. A collector has the ability to check online the status of their submissions. GAI much like PSA requires a membership to get cards graded. The premium membership service gives it members several free evaluations per year and other parting memorabilia. Of the four companies discussed here GAI carries the least weight for a choice of grading companies.
Card Grading Companies: Who’s Best!
The leaders of the pack are still PSA and BGS. The reputation, age and experience of both of these companies ensure that the collector gets an accurate evaluation of their trading cards. If you are dealing with vintage cards, the most trusted card company would be PSA. If you have a “perfect” card the company that will hold the highest resale value is likely BGS or SGC, with BGS being the more trusted of the two. Remember the majority of cards are bought and sold online now and the most common cards sold online today are BGS and PSA cards. With either company you can’t go wrong!

Did you know that the first temporary tattoos were found in bubble gum?
Though it is difficult to determine when the first temporary tattoo was printed, it is thought that they have been designed and manufactured since the turn of the 20th century. They were first used as prizes in bubble gum and later, in 1890, and the well into the 1900s, temporary tattoos were created and included in boxes of Cracker Jacks® snacks. These temporary tattoos were transferred from paper to the skin with the use of water. Cracker Jack® amazingly still includes the same style temporary tattoos as one of their “prize in every box” giveaways today.
Unfortunately, tattoos of the early 20th century were of poor quality and came off as soon as they were rubbed or got wet. My, have tattoos evolved! But before we get to the quality temporary tattoos that are available today, we have a few more decades to weed through.
Temporary tattoos as giveaways in conjunction with snacks or other toys remained the cornerstone of temporary tattoos usage for decades. In addition to snacks, television programs, sports teams and cartoon characters started to use temporary tattoos as promotional tools. For example, not only did sports card packs include chewing gum, beginning in the 1970s, many included temporary tattoos which are considered collectors items today. Smurfs, PeeWee’s Playhouse and the Bionic Woman were also card packs that included temporary tattoos, intended as a means to promote their television programs.
In 1980, temporary tattoos were created using different and exotic ink systems. 3M designed and developed a special coating called Micro-Fragrance® that made scratch-n-sniff technology possible. The temporary tattoo industry adopted the scratch-n-sniff concept and a few companies released scented tattoos.
Around this time advances in ink and screen printing were also developed. These advances made the tattoos last longer and look more realistic. As tattoos quality increased, so did demand. People began seeing temporary tattoos as a product that could last and could be used outside of inexpensive giveaways.
Enter the era of universal demand and consumption. Today, temporary tattoos are sold everywhere from vending machines to check-out counters at mass retailers to high-end boutiques. A tattoo exists for every demographic; Marvel superhero tattoos for young boys, glitter designs for girls, Ed Hardy temporary tattoos for trendy adults and clubbing designs for young people. Temporary tattoos have become a healthy activity for children and a must-have accessory for adults.
From bubble gum prizes to high-end accessory pieces, temporary tattoos have a diverse and rich history. They’re here to stay, that goes without saying. The question is, what will we see next?
